A Name Steeped in Tradition
The name Pilar's Harbour was inspired by Pilar, (pronounced pe-la'r), a 38-foot, 1934 Wheeler-built cabin cruiser and fishing vessel owned by Ernest Hemingway, famed author of many novels including The Old Man and the Sea.  Although Pilar is now dry-docked on Hemingway's Cuban estate in Finca Vagia, the Pilar's Harbour community allows its guests the unique opportunity to experience the Hemingway tradition in Key West style.

Hemingway might well have enjoyed the serene and secluded waterfront setting of Pilar's Harbour, swimming in its two refreshing pools, walking on brick pathways through lush tropical landscape, sitting around the fire pit, or just savoring the outdoors on a Villa's private patio.
